About this site
Designated dispersed camping site along Hyalite Canyon Road (FR 62) below Hyalite Dam in the Hyalite Recreation Area of Custer Gallatin National Forest. Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis at approximately 5,000 feet elevation. Camping is restricted to designated and signed campsites only; no dispersed camping elsewhere along the road or creek corridor. Campfires must be contained in permanent metal fire rings at established sites. Hyalite Canyon Road closed to motorized vehicles April 1 through May 15.
