About this site
Designated dispersed campsite 044 along Forest Road 3163 on the East Fork Hyalite Creek in the Custer Gallatin National Forest's Bozeman Ranger District. Dispersed camping is permitted at marked sites (carsonite signs with tent symbol) within 1/2 mile of the main Hyalite road and East Fork road, and many additional sites outside this zone. Practice Leave No Trace principles and secure food per bear safety orders. Additional Info: Access via FR 3163 from Hyalite Reservoir area. Trailhead at road end provides hiking to Horseshoe Falls, Heather Lake, and Emerald Lake. No potable water or restrooms at trailhead.
