Fourth of July Campground
About this site
Fourth of July Campground is located at the mouth of Tajique Canyon in the Mountainair Ranger District of Cibola National Forest, just outside the Manzano Mountain Wilderness. It features the largest stand of Bigtooth Maples in New Mexico and provides access to trails including the Albuquerque Trail, Crimson Maple Trail, and Fourth of July Trail. The campground has 18 sites in Gallo and Mosca loops, with picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets. Tents and pop-up campers only due to small sites and narrow roads; larger RVs not accommodated. Open April to November; no potable water available. Additional Info: Single site overnight: $10 per night. Day use: $5 per vehicle. Cash or check only at pay station. Accepts New Mexico Enchantment Pass and Interagency Passes.
