Fourmile Cabin

Fourmile Cabin is a year-round recreation rental cabin in the Custer Gallatin National Forest's Yellowstone Ranger District, located in Main Boulder Canyon along the Boulder River at approximately 6,186 feet elevation. The two-room historic cabin sleeps up to 4 people and includes an electric stove, lights, refrigerator, wood stove for heat, basic cookware, table and chairs. There is a vault toilet and campfire ring outside. Potable water is not available; treat water from nearby Boulder River (summer only). The cabin is accessible by vehicle on gravel Forest Road 6639 during warmer months; winter access may require snowshoe, ski, or snowmobile. Reservations required via Recreation.gov. Note: Closed for renovation May 1 through October 31, 2025. Additional Info: Located 42 miles south of Big Timber, MT, across from Fourmile Trailhead. Maximum 5-night stay. Pack out trash. Firewood provided in winter only.
