About this site
Firefly Lake Campground is located on the north side of Firefly Lake in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. The campground features 71 campsites arranged in three loops, all non-electric and suitable for tent and RV/trailer camping (back-in only). The 27-acre lake offers excellent swimming with clear water and a fine-sand beach. Amenities include a flush toilet building with heated showers, five vault toilet buildings, five hand pumps for drinking water, fire rings at each site, picnic tables, and a carry-in boat landing. No boat motors are allowed. The campground is surrounded by dense forest with tall pines, birch, and hardwoods, providing shade and scenic views. A hiking trail circles the lake. All sites are reservable and can be occupied for up to 14 nights per visit. The campground is located about one-half mile from the Crystal Lake Picnic Area and is accessible by a paved bike trail.
