About this site
Fairy Lake Campground is a free, first-come, first-served campground located in the Custer Gallatin National Forest in the Bridger Mountains north of Bozeman, Montana, at an elevation of 7,500 feet. The campground offers 9 sites with vault toilets, hand-pumped drinking water, fire rings, and picnic tables. Access is via a steep 5-mile gravel road (Fairy Lake Road) that becomes slippery when wet and is not suitable for RVs or towed units; high-clearance vehicles are strongly recommended. The campground is pack-in/pack-out with no trash service. There is a 16-day stay limit. The area is known for Yellowstone Cutthroat trout fishing and offers access to Fairy Lake and nearby hiking trails including Sacajawea Peak.
