Erbie Campground
About this site
Erbie Campground is situated along Buffalo National River under towering bluffs, offering a rustic wilderness camping experience in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. The campground provides 14 drive-in campsites, several walk-in tent-only sites, and 5 group sites that accommodate 10-25 people each. All individual and walk-in sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis, while three of the group sites can be reserved by calling Tyler Bend Visitor Center. The campground is accessible via a 6-mile gravel road with one hairpin curve off County Road 79, north of Jasper. Erbie provides direct access to the Buffalo River, a 135-mile free-flowing waterway lined with bluffs up to 440 feet high. The river offers excellent opportunities for canoeing, fishing for smallmouth bass and goggle-eye, and swimming. Campers can enjoy dead and down wood for campfires in designated fire rings. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and limits stays to 14 consecutive days, with a maximum of 6 people per individual site. Flush restrooms and water available March 15 through November 14; vault toilets available year-round during winter months. No fees. Additional Info: Contact: Steel Creek Ranger Station at 870-861-2570 or Tyler Bend Visitor Center at 870-439-2502.
