Elroy-Sparta Trail Walk-In Campground

The Elroy Walk-In Campground is one of two Wisconsin DNR-operated campgrounds serving the historic Elroy-Sparta State Trail. Positioned along Highway 71 near the intersection with Highway 80 in Elroy, the campground is accessed via an underpass beneath the highway, followed by a 100-yard asphalt path leading to the camping area. This primitive campground caters primarily to trail users. Each walk-in campsite features a fire ring and picnic table. The campground provides hand pumps for water and vault toilets. An open picnic shelter offers additional gathering space. Vehicles must be parked in the adjacent lot. Additional Info: Operates seasonally, typically from spring through fall. Reservations available online through the Wisconsin State Parks system. No firewood sold on-site; follow Wisconsin firewood rules.
