Elbow Lake (Gunflint) is a backcountry site in Superior National Forest near Grand Marais, MN, accessible only by boat. The lake has 2 primitive dispersed campsites on 408 acres of water. Each site features a fire grate and latrine. The area is remote and quiet at 1,726 feet elevation. Access is via boat ramp on the east side of the lake; paddling and portaging required. Maximum 9 people per site. Potable water is not available; visitors must treat or boil water. Pack out all garbage.
