East Rim 2 (ER-2) is a backcountry campsite in Big Bend National Park, located 6-7 miles from Chisos Basin Trailhead via Pinnacles Trail. It is surrounded by trees providing good shelter from wind, situated 150-300 ft into the trees from the trail along a high lava plateau. No water sources nearby; carry at least 1 gallon per person per 24 hours. Maximum 6 people, 2 tents. This is a hike-in site only. Short walk from site provides panoramic vistas. Annual closures may apply for peregrine falcon protection from February 1 to May 31.
