DRY RIVER SHELTER # 3 (Campground) Additional Info: Dry River Shelter #3 is a three-sided lean-to shelter located 6.3 miles along the Dry River Trail in the Presidential Range-Dry River Wilderness. The shelter sleeps eight people and features a rock fire ring. It sits along the Dry River, approximately 2.5 miles from treeline and the Alpine zone south of Mt. Washington. The shelter is situated in a remote, heavily forested section of the wilderness. The Dry River Trail is known for being difficult to follow in sections, particularly north of the Isolation Trail junction. The trail traverses rugged terrain with multiple river crossings and significant elevation changes. Winter access requires proper snow travel equipment and navigation skills.
