Dry Fork is a popular dispersed camping area in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest along the Dry Fork of the Belt Creek Basin, known for recreation but affected by historic mining contamination. Additional Info: US Forest Service advises precautions due to heavy metals (arsenic, copper, zinc, cadmium, lead) from abandoned mines in soil, sediment, water, and floodplains: wash hands before eating, stay on trails, avoid harvesting edible plants from floodplains, limit soil contact.
