About this site

Dodger Point Camp is a backcountry backpacking site in Olympic National Park's high country, reached via the primitive Dodger Point Way Trail. Camp on bare ground at least 200 feet from water sources. No toilet facilities; bury human waste 6-8 inches deep and 200 feet from water and campsites; pack out toilet paper. Bear canisters required due to lack of suitable trees for hanging food. Water from Elwha River or springs must be treated. Practice Leave No Trace principles. Additional Info: Backcountry permits required via Recreation.gov under Elwha area or in-person at Wilderness Information Center. Best season August-September due to river crossing conditions. Nearby historic fire lookout offers panoramic views of Mount Olympus and Bailey Range.
