DIPPING VAT (Campground) Additional Info: Dipping Vat Campground is located adjacent to the west side of Snow Lake in Gila National Forest, approximately 52 miles southeast of Reserve, New Mexico. The campground offers 40 developed sites with picnic tables and fire rings, mainly flat terrain. Activities include fishing, overnight camping, and hiking. Snow Lake is stocked with trout three times a year (early spring, early summer, and late fall). The campground has a potable water system with a well and pump, though water is not available during winter (December-March). Year-round camping available with 14-day stay limit. Vault toilets present. Pets must be leashed. OHV/ATV use and hunting prohibited. Excellent for night sky viewing due to remote location. Reserve is the closest town with amenities including gas stations, convenience stores, motels, and restaurants.
