Dewey Lake is a backpacking destination in the Mount Rainier area with campsites near warm alpine lakes, a sandy beach, and access to the Pacific Crest Trail. The trailhead is off SR 410 near Chinook Pass, with approximately 6-7.5 miles roundtrip and 1,270-1,350 feet elevation gain. Additional Info: Requires Northwest Forest Pass for parking. No restrooms or water on the hiking route; filter water from lake outflow. Bear canister recommended for food storage.
