NORTH REC COMPOSITE; (HUNTER CAMPS #2,4,6,9,10,11,1) (Campground) Additional Info: Designated primitive dispersed campsites located within Delta National Forest in Sharkey County, Mississippi. Part of a network of 57 dispersed campsites serving primarily as a base for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Each site includes a graveled pad, fire ring, lantern post, and picnic table. Potable water is available at the Delta Work Center on Forest Service Road 703, not at individual campsites. During hunting season, camping in the forest is restricted to designated hunter camps. Reservations required at least 48 hours in advance via Recreation.gov. The surrounding landscape features flat terrain with bald cypress trees and bottomland hardwoods. Activities include hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, ATV riding, hiking, horseback riding, and paddling.
