Backcountry hiking access point to Shoshone Lake via DeLacy Creek Trail in Yellowstone National Park. The 5.8-mile trail travels along a forest's edge and through open meadows to the shores of Yellowstone's largest backcountry lake. Permit required for overnight camping. Contact Backcountry Office: (307) 344-2160. Regulations: hike in groups of 3 or more; sleep 100 yards from food storage and cooking areas; store food in approved bear resistant containers or hang on food pole; carry minimum 35 feet of rope; campfires allowed only in designated campsites within established fire rings. Aquatic Invasive Species inspection required for all watercraft. Felt soles prohibited. Proof of negative Coggins test within last 12 months required for horses.
