Deer Lakes Campground is a high-elevation, first-come, first-served camping area in Gunnison National Forest near Lake City, Colorado. The campground features 12 sites with predominantly aspen trees and is popular with anglers for its easy fishing access. Each campsite has a five-gallon bucket of water and a camp potty with a removable bag. Potable water and picnic tables are available. Campfires are allowed when conditions permit and the camp host approves. Nearby attractions include the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway and Lake San Cristobal. Hikers, backpackers, and equestrians enjoy trails in the La Garita and Powderhorn Wilderness Areas.
