Deep Lake Campground is the largest and most popular campground on the Eagle Ranger District. It has 35 sites with picnic tables, fire ring grills and level gravel driveways that can generally accommodate an RV under the length of 35 feet. At an elevation of 10,580 feet, subalpine Deep Lake Campground is on the east side of 37 acre Deep Lake. Located in a sparse spruce/fir forest, the campground has nice views of Deep Lake, the subalpine meadows surrounding and the start of Deep Creek canyon. Additional Info: Nestled against Deep Lake 29 miles from the nearest paved road, this campground offers a remote experience surrounded by meadows and a spruce/fir forest. At 10,500 feet, Deep Lake Campground lies on top of the vast White River Plateau. Each site has an accessible metal picnic table and fire ring. Many sites have designated gravel tent pads. A short walk leads to a vault toilet, of which seven are spaced throughout the 29 campsites. No potable water is on site.
