About this site

At an elevation of 10,580 feet, subalpine Deep Lake Campground is on the east side of 37 acre Deep Lake. Located in a sparse spruce/fir forest, the campground has nice views of Deep Lake, the subalpine meadows surrounding and the start of Deep Creek canyon. Deep Lake Campground is the largest and most popular campground on the Eagle Ranger District. It has 35 sites with picnic tables, fire ring grills and level gravel driveways that can generally accommodate an RV under the length of 35 feet. Additional Info: Nestled 29 miles from the nearest paved road on FSR 600, the campground offers a remote experience at 10,500 feet on the White River Plateau. Each site has an accessible metal picnic table and fire ring, with many sites featuring designated gravel tent pads. Seven vault toilets are spaced throughout the campground. No potable water is available on site. Wildlife including elk, mule deer, moose, black bears, bald eagles, and ospreys are common in the area. Only non-motorized boats or boats with electric motors are permitted on Deep Lake. FSR 600 is passable to passenger 2WD vehicles but features slow rocky sections; portions may be impassable when wet, even to 4WD vehicles. The campground operates seasonally from July through September.
