About this site
Dispersed camping on BLM land along Dalton Wash Road north of Virgin, UT, near the border of Zion National Park. The road is well-graded for most vehicles until the final 1/4 mile, which ascends steeply to Guacamole Mesa and is recommended only for 4WD trucks with small to medium trailers, or smaller 4WD vans and SUVs. Three main camping areas: Dalton Wash (main area, space for ~12 rigs), Dalton South (near Zion border), and Dalton Cliffs (high clearance recommended). Terrain includes slickrock, red rock canyon, juniper woodlands, and arid shrubland. Popular for mountain biking (Guacamole Trail trailhead). 14-day camping limit applies. No services; pack in/pack out required. Temperatures range from 90s in summer to 30s in winter.
