Just outside of Silverton, Cunningham Gulch is good for a quick popover. My site was a little exposed because the others down the road were occupied, but it was still very pretty with a view of the valley, a stone fire ring, and access to the water down a semi-steep incline Additional Info: Cunningham Gulch Dispersed Camping is located in the rugged San Juan Mountains of Colorado, offering a true high-country escape with stunning views of the San Juan's. The area features a lower tier with a loop adjacent to the road for camper vehicles and campsites, plus an upper tier. Camping is permitted but must follow Weminuche Wilderness regulations, including no camping or human waste disposal within 100 feet of streams or lakes.
