Overview Crystal Lake is open, however, campsites are no longer available for reservation on Recreation.gov. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Located near the lake at the Crystal Lake Recreation Area and San Gabriel Canyon at an elevation of 5,600 feet. The climate is nice. Areas for tents are provided. Motorized boats are not allowed on the lake. Additional Info: Crystal Lake Recreation Area Campground has 191 campsites. Campsites accommodate tents, trailers, and small RVs (max length around 35 feet). Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, campfire rings with fire pits and tables at each site, and an amphitheater. Hiking trails nearby. The lake is about a mile hike from the campground. Crystal Lake Cafe and Trading Post adjacent for meals, firewood, and supplies. Three cabins available to rent.
