Corral Creek Campground
About this site
Corral Creek Campground is a primitive stock facility and trailhead located in the heart of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests near Adams Ranger Station at approximately 5,150 feet elevation. The site serves as an important access point for equestrians and hikers exploring the Gospel-Hump Wilderness, a 206,053-acre wilderness area. The trail system from Corral Creek leads into the Gospel-Hump Wilderness, where elevations range from 1,970 feet at the Wind River pack bridge on the Salmon River to 8,940 feet at the summit of Buffalo Hump. Access is via Hungry Ridge Road from either Grangeville or Highway 14, though winter access is challenging and typically requires snowmobile travel. The area served as part of the historic Milner Trail dating back to 1862.
