About this site

Corn Springs Campground is located deep in a canyon of the Chuckwalla Mountains in southeastern California, about 45 miles west of the California-Arizona border and a few miles southeast of Joshua Tree National Park. The campground is administered by the Bureau of Land Management and has been operated as a fan palm oasis campground since 1968. Nine campsites are available, including one group site, each equipped with a picnic table, grill, shade ramada, and vault toilet. Potable water is available. The $6.00 per night fee is first-come, first-served. Two-wheel drive passenger vehicles can reach the campground via approximately six miles of dirt road. The site features a ½-mile interpretive trail and is known for its petroglyphs, which are among the finest examples of rock art in the Colorado Desert, with some dating back 10,000 years. The oasis supports abundant wildlife and is an important stopping place for migratory birds. Visitors can enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, bird watching, horseback riding, photography, and sightseeing. The campground is wheelchair accessible.
