Coon Creek Yellow Post Site #9 is one of 19 free, first-come-first-served individual campsites designated by the San Bernardino National Forest along Forest Road 1N02 off Highway 38, near Barton Flats and Onyx Summit. Each site accommodates a maximum of 8 persons and 2 vehicles, with a 14-day camping limit within any 30-day period. Amenities include a picnic table and fire ring at each site. No toilets, showers, or drinking water are available; pack in and pack out. A valid California Campfire Permit is required for fire ring use, subject to seasonal restrictions. Open year-round. Sites 1-10 are accessible by 2WD vehicles. Additional Info: Located at approximately 7,080 feet elevation near Sand to Snow National Monument. Nearby Pacific Crest Trail access at sites 17-19.
