Coon Creek Yellow Post Site #16 is one of 19 designated free campsites along Forest Road 1N02 in San Bernardino National Forest, near Hwy 38 between Barton Flats and Onyx Summit. These sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations. Each site accommodates a maximum of 8 persons and 2 vehicles. Amenities include a picnic table and fire ring. No drinking water, restrooms, or other facilities are available. A valid California Campfire Permit is required for fire ring use, subject to seasonal restrictions. Open year-round with a 14-day camping limit. Sites are accessible by standard vehicles up to site #10; higher numbered sites like #16 may require higher clearance. Additional Info: Sites 17-19 are near the Pacific Crest Trail and within Sand to Snow National Monument. Cellular signal is fair (2 bars). Pack out all trash and avoid parking on vegetation.
