Coon Creek Yellow Post Site #1 is one of 19 individual free campsites designated by the San Bernardino National Forest along Forest Road 1N02 near Highway 38, close to Big Bear City and Sand to Snow National Monument. Each site offers a picnic table and fire ring, with no drinking water, restrooms, or other amenities. Sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations, limited to 8 persons and 2 vehicles maximum, and a 14-day camping limit within any 30-day period. A valid California Campfire Permit is required for fire use, subject to restrictions. Open year-round. Site #1 is easily accessible by any vehicle including 2WD, trailers, and motorhomes. Additional Info: Sites provide a rustic camping experience with opportunities for hiking nearby trails, wildlife viewing including deer, and excellent stargazing.
