Coon Creek Yellow Post #16 is one of 19 designated first-come, first-served campsites in San Bernardino National Forest, marked by yellow posts along Forest Road 1N02 near Hwy 38. Each site offers a picnic table and fire ring, shaded by pine trees, with some near seasonal Coon Creek. Maximum 8 persons and 2 vehicles per site. No reservations, restrooms, or drinking water available. Valid California Campfire Permit required; subject to fire restrictions. Open year-round, 14-day camping limit. Road suitable for most vehicles to lower sites; high clearance recommended beyond site 10. Additional Info: Sites 17-19 near Pacific Crest Trail and Sand to Snow National Monument. Excellent stargazing and nearby hiking trails with wildlife sightings.
