Coon Creek Yellow Post Sites are 19 free, first-come-first-serve campsites designated by the Mountaintop Ranger District of San Bernardino National Forest. Site #10 is located along Forest Road 1N02 near Highway 38, between Barton Flats and Onyx Summit, at an elevation of 7,080 feet. Each site accommodates a maximum of 8 persons and 2 vehicles. Amenities include a picnic table and fire ring. No drinking water, toilets, or other services are available. Sites 1-10 are easily accessible by any vehicle including 2WD and trailers. A valid California Campfire Permit is required for fire use. Maximum stay is 14 days in any 30-day period. Pets are allowed. The area offers excellent stargazing, nearby hiking trails, and wildlife viewing opportunities including deer.
