Located on top of Iron Mountain at 3800 feet, a small primitive campground and historic picnic area await the true outdoor enthusiast. The log picnic shelter with large stone fireplace was built by the Civil Conservation Corp. Additional Info: Small primitive campground with 6 first-come, first-served sites, each with picnic table and fire pit. Vault toilets available. No potable water. Accessed via 4 miles of gravel Forest Service Road 57 from VA 21. Trails nearby include Little Dry Run Wilderness, Comers Rock Overlook, and Unaka Nature Trail. Quiet hours 10pm-6am.
