Additional Info: Chopawamsic Backcountry Area is 1,500 acres of backcountry with eight designated tent campsites accessible along short paths from a 2.2-mile loop trail. A permit is required for overnight camping, available free via recreation.gov (with $8 reservation fee) or by calling 877-444-6777 ($9 fee). The area is primitive with no water, fires, or facilities at sites; a vault toilet is at the trailhead parking lot. Pets are not allowed. Open year-round barring inclement weather.
