Chimney Rock Campground
About this site
Along the Chimney Rock segment of Central Oregon's Crooked Wild and Scenic River, Chimney Rock Campground offers a relaxing woodland setting amongst Western Juniper trees and beneath massive Columbia River basalt rock formations. The campground features 16 campsites spread throughout the woodland, making it one of nine BLM-managed campgrounds along this scenic river corridor. Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. No reservations accepted. Amenities include vault toilets, potable drinking water, campsite tables, fire rings, grills, and a campground host. Each site has a parking spur and can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 35 feet. An accessible fishing platform is located near the entrance. Recreational opportunities include fly-fishing access, hiking the nearby Chimney Rock Trail, and easy river access along the adjacent Crooked River Back Country Byway (State Highway 27). The area is part of the 18-mile Crooked River Canyon Scenic Bikeway. Wildlife viewing includes deer, river otter, antelope, beaver, and waterfowl. Additional Info: Cell service is not available.
