Champoeg State Heritage Area is a year-round campground located along the scenic Willamette River near St. Paul, Oregon. The facility features approximately 81 campsites including 21 full-hookup sites, 67 electric sites with water, and 6 walk-in tent sites. Additional accommodations include 6 yurts, 6 cabins, 3 group tent camping areas, an RV group camping loop with meeting hall, and a hiker/biker camp. Amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, RV dump station, and firewood and ice available for purchase. The campground is situated on the site where Oregon's first provisional government was formed in 1843. Visitors can enjoy 4 miles of paved bike trails, 1.5 miles of hiking and nature trails, an 18-hole disc golf course, river access for fishing and kayaking, and historic sites including a visitor center, Newell House, and Pioneer Mothers Log Cabin. The park is on the National Register of Historic Places.
