CHAMISA FLATS DISPERSED CAMPING AREA (Camping Area) Additional Info: Chamise Flat Dispersed Campground is located about 12 miles north of Kernville along the North Fork of the Kern River in Sequoia National Forest. This free dispersed camping area is open year-round. No potable water is available; bring your own or filter from natural sources. Portable toilets and trash bins are provided during summer months only. Pack it in, pack it out—no trash service. California Campfire Permit required for campfires, BBQs, and stoves, which may be prohibited during fire restrictions. Dogs allowed on 6' leash. Camping and campfires prohibited within 25 feet of the water's edge. Glass containers prohibited.
