The Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area (CFRA) is an 11,300-acre area managed by a mix of federal, state, county, city, and private lands, featuring 37-43 miles of trails for hiking, equestrian use, and mountain biking through Mohave Desert scrub/semi-desert grassland with yucca, creosote, and mesquite. It provides habitat for mule deer, Sonoran desert tortoise, coyotes, and other wildlife. Trailheads include Metwell (near Monolith Gardens), Badger (off US-93), and Coyote Pass. Summer temperatures often exceed 100°F with risks of lightning and flash flooding during monsoon storms. Additional Info: Trail system traverses the foothills of the Cerbat Mountains.
