Cavan Lake Recreational Campground is a 76-site municipal campground located 18 km east of Medicine Hat on Highway 1, then 5.5 km south on Range Road 40 (4 km gravel surface). The campground offers 60 sites with 29 amp power and 44 seasonal sites. All sites have fire pits with free firewood available. Amenities include a playground, horseshoe pits, pit toilets, day-use area, and fishing (stocked with rainbow trout, maximum boat speed 12 km/hr). Water on-site is non-potable; bring your own drinking water. No water, sewer hookups, or sani-dump available. No reservations; payment accepted at check-in. Caretaker on-site. Open May 1 to September 30.
