Carney Lake State Forest Campground
About this site
Nestled on the shores of Carney Lake, this rustic campground provides 16 tent and small trailer sites. Enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, fishing, boating and direct access to ORV trails via a designated ORV road. The campground is located 14 miles northeast of Iron Mountain via M-95 North and Carney Lake Road. There is a boat launch on Carney Lake. Walleye, panfish and pike are caught in Carney Lake. Nearby fishing opportunities include Rock Lake (1 mile north) and Lake Antoine (7 miles southwest). This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. The operation of an ORV between the campground and nearby trails is allowed. Additional Info: Sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water from a well-hand pump, and a boat launch.
