About this site
Carbella Recreation Site is a BLM-operated campground along the Yellowstone River with 15 numbered campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and food storage cabinet (bear box). Vault toilets are available, but there is no drinking water, trash service, firewood, or other amenities. Free camping on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day limit. A boat ramp provides access for fishing and floating. The site is vehicle-accessible with gravel roads. Additional Info: Recently renovated with standardized sites. Popular for its proximity to Yellowstone National Park (20 miles north of Gardiner). Bears frequent the area; use provided bear boxes for food storage.
