About this site
Cape Final is a backcountry camping area on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, accessible via a 2.1-mile (4.2 miles round-trip) easy to moderate hiking trail from Cape Royal Road. A few primitive campsites are located near the Cape Final viewpoint at 7,916 feet elevation. The site offers spectacular views of the Colorado River, Vishnu Temple, Jupiter Temple, and the Painted Desert. Backcountry camping requires a permit in advance from the North Rim Backcountry Office; only one permit is granted per night. Permit cost is $10 plus $5 per group per night for above-rim camping. No water is available along the trail or at the campsites.
