Candlestick Backcountry Campsite is a single, primitive campsite located directly on the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. The site sits on a mix of slickrock and packed, gravelly soil with no shade or shelter from the wind, offering expansive views of the surrounding desert landscape and the Green River. It is suitable for tent camping only and is intended for experienced backcountry travelers using 4x4 vehicles or mountain bikes. Additional Info: Candlestick is one of the designated backcountry campsites along the 100‑mile White Rim Road loop below the Island in the Sky mesa. The site accommodates up to 15 people and 3 vehicles and has a private toilet. An overnight permit is required for all overnight trips along the White Rim and can be obtained through the National Park Service via Recreation.gov. The area is extremely exposed, with temperatures ranging from highs near 100°F in summer to lows around 20°F in winter.
