Near the Upper South Umpqua, Camp Comfort is perfect for camping, swimming, picnicking, and hiking. Large old-growth cedar and fir trees provide shade to campers, while rhododendron are a burst of color in the spring.Camp Comfort serves as the trailhead for Camp Comfort Trail #1586, a short but rewarding trail that leads to a rocky outcrop overlooking the beginning of the South Umpqua River. First-come, first-served with pay envelopes on site. Additional vehicle fee is $5 per vehicle per night. Maximum stay is 14 days. Campfires allowed in developed fire pits when conditions allow. Quiet hours 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Check-in 2:00 p.m., check-out 12:00 p.m. No fishing at this location. Be advised that poison oak may be present.
