Calkins Flat Dispersed Campground
About this site
Calkins Flat Dispersed Campground is a free primitive camping area along the Wild & Scenic Upper Kern River in Sequoia National Forest, about 15 miles north of Kernville, CA. It offers 7-10 dispersed sites suitable for tents, trailers, RVs, and walk-to camping. All sites must be at least 25 feet from the river edge. Vault toilets and trash service available seasonally in summer months; no drinking water. Open year-round. A free campfire permit is required; campfires may be restricted by fire danger. Pets allowed on 6' leash. Pack in/pack out.
