Buttercup Campground
About this site
Buttercup Campground is an open, dry camping area in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, located on the south side of Interstate 8 just west of Yuma, Arizona. Access via Grays Wells Road exit, near the Buttercup Ranger Station. Pick a spot near the dunes, avoiding deep sand and OHV trails. Pay weekly fees at the ranger station (minimum one week). No services on site; bring water, fuel, food. Pets allowed but not recommended due to OHV activity. Prohibitions: burning pallets/nailed wood, glass bottles. Vault toilets and dumpsters available. Ranger station open Fri-Sun mid-Oct to mid-Apr. Additional Info: BLM-managed dispersed camping area with easy vehicle access from paved roads.
