Butter Gap Shelter is a backpacking shelter located in Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina, accessible via the Art Loeb Trail and Butter Gap Trail. The shelter features a modified A-frame design and is equipped with a bear hanging system for food storage. A spring is located nearby. The shelter serves as a waypoint on multi-day backpacking routes, including the Art Loeb Trail section that passes by Pilot Mountain, Chestnut Mountain, and Low Gap.
