About this site

Burnt Lake is a backcountry camping area in the Mt. Hood Wilderness on the west side of Mount Hood. The lake is accessible via Burnt Lake Trail #772, a 4.2-mile hike from the North Trailhead that climbs from 2,680 feet to 4,120 feet elevation. There are 7 designated campsites around the lake accessible via a loop trail. Camping is allowed only in designated spots. Campfires are not allowed within 100 feet of the lake. A valid Recreation Pass is required May 1 to October 31. Wilderness restrictions apply. Trail access is affected by annual gate closure at Forest Road 1825 from December 1 through April 1.
