Buck Pond Campground

Buck Pond Campground is located on the western shore of 130-acre Buck Pond in Adirondack State Park near Onchiota, New York. The campground offers 116 campsites accommodating tents, RVs up to 30 feet, and tent cabins. Amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, potable water, picnic tables, a trailer dump station, recycling center, boat launch on Lake Kushaqua, car top boat launch on Buck Pond, and rentals for canoes, rowboats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. A guarded sand beach with bathhouse is available. The campground features a walking trail stretching for miles along an abandoned railroad bed. Recreational opportunities include canoeing, boating, fishing, hiking, and bicycling. Water and sewage hookups are available at select sites; electric hookups are not offered. Pets are allowed, and campfires are permitted. Additional Info: Sites are distributed across three loops: Loop A (sites 1-33) offers the largest and most private sites; Loop B (sites 34-73) and Loop C (sites 74-107) offer a mix of semi-private and private sites. Seventeen sites are designated for tents, 75 sites accommodate 20-foot trailers, and 22 sites accommodate 30-foot trailers. Many waterfront sites provide excellent views of mountains and access to Buck Pond and Lake Kushaqua.
