Brushy Creek State Recreation Area is a 6,500-acre park centered on a 690-acre lake near Lehigh, Iowa. The recreation area features three modern campgrounds accommodating equestrian and non-equestrian campers. The equestrian campgrounds (north and south) include modern shower and restroom facilities, electric and non-electric sites, full hookup sites (water and sewer), horse wash areas, hitch rails at every site, and a 100 ft by 200 ft riding arena. The non-equestrian campground offers electric, non-electric, and full hookup sites. All campgrounds feature picnic tables and grills at each site. The park offers over 40 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Additional amenities include a swimming beach, four boat ramps, fishing pier and jetties, fish cleaning station, shooting range, and playground. Restroom and shower buildings are typically available April 15 to October 15, with water hydrants, electricity, and pit vault toilets available year-round. Reservations are required and can be made online. Nightly rates range from $25 to $35.
