About this site
Brickhill Bluff Wilderness Campsite is a remote backcountry camping area located on the north end of Cumberland Island National Seashore, approximately 10.5 miles north of the Sea Camp ferry dock. The campsite is situated on the Brickhill River and offers a true wilderness experience with no amenities beyond a non-potable water pump that must be treated. Access is by hiking from Sea Camp, paddling by kayak or canoe, or private motorboat. The site accommodates up to 6 people per permit with a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights. Campers must be fully self-sufficient, packing in all supplies and packing out all trash. Fires are prohibited; portable camp stoves are permitted for cooking. All food and trash must be hung out of reach of wildlife. Human waste must be deposited in a cathole at least 70 paces from the campsite and water sources. No bicycles, carts, or wheeled vehicles are permitted in the designated wilderness. The campground faces westward toward the Intracoastal Waterway and provides scenic sunset views.
