No wood or ground fires permitted. Boot Spring is a seasonal/intermittent source of water. This water must be treated before drinking. No bathing or washing in the spring area. Check with a ranger about current flow. Hikers on 1-2 day trips should plan on carrying all their necessary water. Plan on at least one gallon/24 hours/person. Pets are not allowed on trails in Big Bend National Park. Additional Info: Boot Canyon 4 is a backpacking site accessible by a 5-mile hike, offering shade in a wooded canyon with bear boxes for food storage. Pit toilets are nearby. No campfires allowed.
